See Mike Brown's website for everything Haumea!

To determine the orbital parameters and the masses of the dwarf planet Haumea and its two satellites, I translated a code used in Ragozzine and Brown 2009 from IDL to Python. I updated the astrostatistics, changing the method from minimizing chi-squared using a Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, mpfit, to using a Python implementation of Affine Invariant Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) Ensemble sampler called emcee. We successfully reproduced the results of Ragozzine and Brown 2009. New HST data will eventually be integrated into the old data and will increase the precision of the found parameters.
